I started reading The Dukeís Handmaid and could not put it down. I honestly cannot remember the last time I was so riveted with a book. I love the way you made the reader truly care about the characters. I fell in love with Kee from the beginning and then Vahn. The whole time I was reading the book, I felt totally swept away--living in a different time and place. It felt like an escape.Kim Collazo
I know you donít know me, but I bought The Dukeís Handmaid a few weeks
ago. I really enjoyed it. You are an excellent
author. I think the comparisons with C.S. Lewis and J.R.R.
Tolkien are justified.
Iíve read several self-published books, including one by Piers Anthony, and Caprice Hokstadís was the most professional that I have ever come across. Iím surprised... that it wasnít published by Tor.
I was impressed by the quality of writing and of the editing. With The Dukeís Handmaid, Caprice Hokstad just raised the standard of self-publishing to a new level.
I can honestly say that I have never read a book that has captivated me like yours did. And just to let you know, I am making a few of my friends read it as well.
I finished Capriceís book, and I am sorry its over! She is a wonderful writer! I think she has a real future ahead! Itís good to read interesting, clean books without cussing and crude sex! Donít stop, Caprice, you have some fans here!
I read the first three chapters of The Dukeís Handmaid and I absolutely loved them. They sucked me right in from the very beginning, and I couldnít get my mind off them until I had
finished. Thatís a fantastic story! ... just WOW...
I couldnít put it down. I need to have the next one, please? It really was great. It is the kind of story you donít want to end.
It was better than I had hoped. I was able to enjoy the great story, the deep characters, and rich environment presented in your work. This is truly a work to be proud of and should bring you acclaim for years to come.

To be honest, I never would have read this book normally, but now, after having read it, Iím glad I did. It was a nice change of pace for me. Hokstad captures the very heart of innocence. Her compelling skill to elicit emotion and sentiment from the reader is all too rare in todayís fiction. She paces the story well and sets each scene with just the right amount of description. Well
done, Ms. Hokstad!

The author... pulls one through at a rapid clip. The action is nonstop. We rated this book five hearts.
